Reiki Distance Healing
What is Reiki?
Reiki (ray-key) is an ancient Japanese form of energy healing. The word Reiki means universal life force energy. It facilitates healing by directing energy and opening up the body’s energy centers (the chakras) in order to promote healing on all levels: physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Reiki practitioners have been attuned to channel the Reiki ray energy, which is a very specific and high frequency energy. The energy flows through the practitioner’s crown chakra, out their hands and is channeled to the animal being healed. The practitioner does not give the energy, rather he/she is a mere vehicle for the energy, and your pet receives as much as it needs. Reiki is an intelligent energy and always flows where it is needed most. Given this fact, I feel it is important to let clients know that, although we love our pets and want what is best for them, the animal’s needs may be different from our wishes or expectations. Reiki can do no harm and goes where it is needed most for the greatest healing and the highest intention of the recipient.
How it works:
Reiki is a powerful and effective, yet gentle, form of energy healing. Reiki is channeled through the practitioner to the animal where it helps to restore natural balance to all levels of being: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. I find that the distance treatments are wonderfully suited for our animal companions and their caretakers on several levels. Since energy is not bound by time or space, it can be channeled at anytime to anyone. Many animals do not initially enjoy hands on treatments as they are very sensitive to the new energy and can be nervous having someone touch them that they do not know. Distance healing allows them to be comfortable, in their own home, and free to lie down, move around or do whatever they would normally be doing. It is also great for moms and dads as there is no need to change your schedule at all to accommodate a treatment--no worrying about having to tidy up the house for an in home visit or having to spend your free time traveling to an appointment and adding stress to your pet. Distant treatments are also wonderful for animals before or after surgery or other medical procedures, as it can help speed healing and help your pet relax. All animals, even healthy ones, can benefit from Reiki; however, distance healing is wonderful for animals that are ill or injured, animals that do not like to travel and especially for animals transitioning. Reiki is also a wonderful complimentary therapy that can be used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments and procedures. It helps promote faster healing and can minimize physical and emotional side-effects.
Reiki helps heal any illness or dis-ease of the body, mind and spirit. It works with acute and chronic conditions. Sometimes one treatment is all that is needed. More sessions may be necessary when treating chronic and long term conditions. Each animal is an individual and as such heals at a rate that is in their highest intention.
Distance healing is convenient, yet effective. During a treatment your pet is able to go about his/her daily activities. I begin the session with specific exercises to clear my energy and ground myself. I then attune to Reiki energy using the ancient symbols, which begins the flow of Reiki. During the session I use a proxy or object as a stand-in for your pet, and, guided by intuition I may incorporate crystals, infuse the energy with certain colors, or say affirmations. My greatest desire and intention is for your pet to be healthy, happy and live a peaceful, joyful life.
Please note that I do not recommend Reiki as a replacement for veterinary care. If your animal is sick or injured please consult a veterinarian or holistic practitioner.
